Buckles & Accessories
Which belts does the buckle work with?
Our buckles are specifically designed as aftermarket upgrades for Arcade’s Adventure Stretch Belts (Standard 1.5" width). They fit the webbing once the original Arcade plastic buckle is removed.
How do the buckle faces attach?
Each face uses four compact flanged posts on the back that align with spring-loaded, slotted cavities in the buckle body. When seated, the face locks in with a clean mechanical engagement — secure, repeatable, and tool-free. Push to lock in, pull to release.
How does the flashlight work?
The buckle has an integrated micro-LED flashlight that can be used either detached (in hand) or for path lighting while the belt is worn. It operates for many hours using two replaceable standard CR2016 coin batteries.
Does the buckle need service or lubrication?
No. The buckle is designed to never require service or lubrication.
Can I disassemble it for cleaning?
Light cleaning (wipe/wash and dry) is fine. Full internal disassembly isn’t required for normal use — the system was designed to run clean for its service life.
Can I use other belts?
Maybe. If the belt is 1.5" wide and uses a similar flat webbing, it may work — but the system was engineered specifically around the Arcade Adventure series, so that’s the setup we stand behind.
Rings
Sizing?
Please read about our Fit Kit to learn how we find your most comfortable ring size.
Why have a wedding ring that opens?
Most knuckles are a larger diameter than the place your ring actually sits (and if you’ve had an injury or arthritis, the difference can be big). A hinged ring lets you get past the knuckle easily and wear a ring that fits properly — not tight, not loose — and still remove it for sports, work, washing, showering, or sleep.
Do you have your rings in any stores?
No. We currently sell direct only. If you’re in the San Francisco Bay Area, you’re welcome to visit the studio.
Can you engrave my ring?
We usually suggest having it done locally. That way we don’t engrave a ring that later needs to be returned or adjusted. Most good jewelers have someone who can engrave titanium. If you can’t find one, we have someone in San Francisco we can use.
My ring size is a 9, but my knuckle needs a 10.5 to get over it. Will your ring open wide enough?
Probably — but we won’t know for sure until you try an actual ring. Hinged rings don’t open in a perfect circle, so the open position doesn’t directly match a standard ring size.
Are your rings safety rings?
No. One of the main purposes of the latch is to let you take your ring off before you do anything potentially dangerous. A good place to keep it is the coin pocket in your jeans. You can also use one of our RingClips to carry it on a keychain or as a pendant. If you want a ring that stays on no matter what, consider a silicone/rubber ring.
I prefer a smaller/wider band. Can you make your rings narrower or wider?
Maybe — ask.
Can you make my ring out of precious metal?
Sorry, no. The mechanism requires the strength of advanced structural metals.
Can you make my ring out of tungsten/carbide?
Sorry, no. Tungsten carbide is too hard to machine — it’s made by sintering, not CNC. It won’t work with our mechanism.
Can you make my ring black (or another color)?
Sorry, no. Titanium can be colored, but those colors don’t hold up to everyday ring wear. Some companies sell “black titanium,” but their alloy isn’t strong enough for our mechanism.
I have an idea or want something slightly different. Do you do custom?
Never hurts to ask. We like good ideas.
